What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it | Our legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| What you enter on the demo form: your name, email, message, and your company and telephone number if you give them | To reply to your enquiry and arrange a demo | Our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us |
| Technical details needed to deliver the site and protect it, such as IP address and browser details | To serve pages, keep the site secure and stop automated abuse of the form | Our legitimate interest in running a secure website |
| How the site is used, measured by Google Analytics, such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type | To understand which pages are useful and improve them | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
You do not have to use the demo form, but we cannot reply without a way to contact you. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Cookies
Google Analytics runs only if you accept it. If you reject it, or make no choice, its script is not loaded and its cookies are not set.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics, with your consent | Tells visits from different browsers apart | Up to 2 years |
_ga_EQ4D99LH79 | Google Analytics, with your consent | Keeps track of the current visit | Up to 2 years |
intellinex-cookie-choice | This site, stored in your browser | Remembers your cookie choice. It is not sent to us | 12 months, then we ask again |
Cloudflare may also set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is not automated. We also use Cloudflare’s cookieless web analytics, which does not set cookies on your device. These do not need your consent.
You can change your mind at any time. If you reject analytics after accepting, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
Who handles your information
We use these service providers, who act on our instructions or as independent controllers where their own terms say so:
- Cloudflare hosts and protects this site, runs the security check on the demo form, stores enquiries and sends us the notification email.
- Microsoft provides our business email, where enquiries are received and answered.
- Barracuda filters our incoming email for security.
- Google provides Google Analytics, if you accept it, and the fonts on this site. Your browser requests the fonts directly from Google, which shares your IP address with Google whatever you choose about cookies.
Our IT support provider may also have access when maintaining our systems. We may share information if the law requires it, or with professional advisers or a buyer of our business, under suitable confidentiality terms.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law recognises, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK’s approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries stored by the website: deleted automatically after two years.
- Emails about your enquiry: kept in our business mailboxes for as long as we need them to deal with the enquiry and any relationship that follows.
- Google Analytics data: no more than 14 months.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, and to ask us to correct or delete it. You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and in some cases ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us using the details above. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
